The Central States Fair is set to kick off on Friday, August 20-August 29th. There will nine nights of grandstand entertainment including the Black Hills Power Concert Series, the Knology Supercross Races and the Johnson Machine/NAPA Demolition Derby followed by three nights of action packed PRCA Range Days Rodeo.
“We work hard to provide affordable family entertainment with a nice mix for everyone” said CSF President Dan Dryden. Prices for grandstand passes remain the same as last year with early discounts for general admission and premiere passes starting at $60 for all nine nights. In addition, the Bill Hames Carnival will offer Big D Mega Passes and a full week of carnival excitement for the family.
Tourism trends for this year indicate that more families are looking for local events for their family vacations and Central States Fair will offer just what they need. There has been a greater emphasis on grounds entertainment from jugglers, to clowns, to magic and music that is all included for a $2 daily gate fee. The fair will again be host to the SD State Mutton Bustin Championships and the SD State Rock Paper Scissors Championships.
If you are interested in livestock, the fair will add a goat show and a pig show to the sheep and cattle shows. The petting zoo and all of the crafts in open class exhibits makes this event, truly, and event for everyone.
