The Central States Fair strives to make each Fair-goer’s experience a pleasant one. They adhere to ADA Accessibility standards and provide numerous restroom locations and hand sanitizing stations, trolley rides, and a children’s play area. Visitor public safety is ensured through their on-site Sheriff Headquarters.

Want to show-off your talents, but not a 4-H member? The Central States Fair also offers Open Class Divisions!



Restrooms

There are restrooms located at numerous places in all major buildings at Central States Fair;

  • Fine Arts Building
  • Pigeon Building
  • Event Center
  • Lions Building
  • Creative Arts Building
  • Horse Show Office
  • Grandstands
  • Central States Fair Office

Portable bathrooms are established beside the McDonald's Stage, north-west of the Lions Building, and on the midway.


Hand Sanitizing Stations

There are numerous hand-sanitizing stations located around the fair grounds to ensure everyone has a clean fun fair experience.


Sheriff HQ

We strive to provide public safety for all Central States Fair patrons. The Sheriffs Headquarters is located on the grassy area south of the Grandstands. The Sheriffs Headquarters also handles all Lost and Found Items at the fair. They can be reached by contacting 605-355-3802 or 605-355-3805.

ADA Accessability

The Central States Fair is BIG FUN for everyone! The fairgrounds are almost entirely accessible by wheelchair, with the exception of some restrooms.  Information regarding accommodations for persons with disabilities is available at Central States Fair office 605-355-3861.


Trolley Rides

A tractor-trolley ride is available to fairgoers who park in the free parking area west of the fairgrounds. The trolley delivers fairgoers from the parking lot to the LaCrosse St Entrance of the fairgrounds.


Children's Play Area

The Fine Arts Kiddie Land is a great place to catch children activities. Throughout the fair, children have the opportunity to participate in games, jump castles, sandbox, make crafts, and watch entertainment on the Knology Stage. Check out Kiddie Land during the fair, located in the grassy area between the Open Class Exhibit Building.


Open Class

The Open Class Division is an opportunity for everyone from  young and old to participate in the fair. Open Class is NOT limited to 4-H member; rather anyone with a hobby can show off their talents and receive a premium. For a complete list of Open Class Divisions please go to Open Class Premium Book. First Aid
A first aid station is located under the grandstands for basic medical needs. Our trained medical staff is available during normal fair hours. The First Aid Station can be contacted during the fair at 605-355-3803.

Rest Areas
There is a lot to see at the Central States Fair, so take a minute and sit down on the many resting benches around the fairgrounds donated by Lamar Signs of Rapid City.

ATMs
Need quick access to cash? There are three ATM Machines located on the fairgrounds during the week of the fair. ATM Machines can be located at the north side of the white ticket shack, the east side of the lions building and in the Event Center.

Showers
Happy campers at the Central States Fairgrounds can enjoy hot showers at two different locations; the bathroom facilities south of the Bray Arena Crowsnest or bathroom facilities located in the brown bathrooms in the grandstand-camping area.
