Show Rules
1. Pens
will be available Tuesday, August 24 after 6 p.m. Cattle must be penned by 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 25.
2. There
will be a limit of two pens per category, per consignor.
3. Weights
will be taken upon arrival and classes will be determined by that weight. No
breed classification will be used in the bred heifer division.
4. Continental
and British breeds will be shown together if three or more pens of continental
cattle are not represented in each division.
5. Purebred
entries will be classed and judged with commercial steers, heifers and bulls.
6. NO
fitting, clipping or washing of the animals is allowed.
7. Exhibitor
must provide own feed for the cattle at the show. Bedding is provided.
8. All
calf divisions (bulls, heifers and steers) must be born after January 1, 2021.
9. Health
Requirements: All cattle, including exhibit animals, must be accompanied by a
proper health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian within 30 days of
the Pen Show. Health certificates must be presented to a representative of the
Animal Industry Board. Health certificates will be retained by the show
secretary. All livestock must comply with the SDCL 40-3-14 health regulations.
10. Central
States Fair, Inc. Management reserves the right to final and absolute decision
regarding any issue involving the livestock show. Final and absolute right to
interpret these rules and regulations and the right to settle and determine all
matters, questions or differences in regard hereto, or otherwise arising out
of, or connected with, or incidental to, the event.
11. Central
States Fair or anyone helping with the show assumes no responsibility for
accident or injury. CSF/Personnel will not be responsible for any injury or
loss of any animal or accident thereby.
