No minimum age requirement for young showers but no assistance in the ring, they may also enter the Beginner division in Showmanship.

This is an OPEN youth show, ages 8-21 years old. We do NOT have a sale with this show. Map/Stalling Info please see below.

Dates for youth and open livestock shows have been set for the 2023 Central States Fair. The Central States Fair, which takes place Aug. 16-26, moved the open youth livestock shows to the first weekend of the fair in an effort to work with the schedules of other fairs in the state and surrounding area.

2023 Central States Fair Livestock Show Schedule:
Friday, Aug. 18: Youth Swine, Goat & Sheep Show
Saturday, Aug. 19: Youth Beef and Black Hills Gold Beef Futurity
Wednesday, Aug. 23: Pen of Three Beef Show

The Central States Fair offers youth shows in sheep, goats, pigs and beef with approximately $20,000 paid out in livestock premium monies. All youth shows are sanctioned with the SD Junior Point Show, an organization devoted to promote youth livestock shows in South Dakota. Participants can exhibit in a number of regional shows throughout the year to gain points for state titles.
