This Non-Profit organization was formed in 1962. It has a board of directors made up of volunteers and Extension Educators that meet 3 times a year to prepare for the Show.
This Show is made up of various contests for youth which provide:
1) opportunities for further development of skills by all youth (4-H & Non 4-H) in the Family & Consumer Sciences field.
2) Give all youth another opportunity to present to the public the art and science of Homemaking.
Bread Baking, FCS Judging, Place Setting, Vegetable Judging & ID, Ingredient Measuring, Fashion Revue, Public Speaking, Home Living centerpieces, Family Life Photos, FCS Skill-a-thon, & Meat ID.
The youth activities take place on Friday & Saturday on the 1st wk after the 1st Monday in October is located in and around the Walter Taylor Building next the the Pennington County 4-H Office.
Prizes are awarded to the top scoring youth in each contest
An Educational Trip to the Denver Stock Show in January is also awarded in the public speaking area as well as an application process for participants 15 and older with FCS Show experience.
