RUSSELL DICKERSON with Logan Mize

Central States Fair, Inc. welcomes RUSSELL DICKERSON to the Central States Fair as part of the Black Hills Energy Concert Series on Saturday, August 27. Fans already know Dickerson as a prolific songwriter and powerhouse showman. In 2017, his gold-certified full-length album, ‘Yours’, bowed at #5 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and #1 on the Emerging Artists Chart. Not to mention, it yielded three consecutive #1 hits including the double-platinum “Yours” (christened “One of the hottest wedding songs of the year”), the platinum “Blue Tacoma,” and platinum “Every Little Thing.” Nominations followed at the Academy of Country Music Awards, CMT Music Awards, and iHeart Radio Music Awards. Among many highlights in 2020, he received a nod in the category of “Best New Male Artist of the Year” at the ACM Awards.

Opening for Dickerson is LOGAN MIZE. In 2009, Mize released his first, self-titled album. Over the next decade and three more albums, he scored hit singles with “Ain't Always Pretty” and “Better Off Gone” (which was recently certified Gold by the RIAA), and logged over 350 million streams on different platforms. Mize’s newest album, ‘Welcome to Prairieville’, is his most personal work to date.

“We are extremely excited for this year’s Central States Fair”, says Ron Jeffries, Fair Manager. “We’ve made some scheduling changes that we think fairgoers will really like, and our entertainment lineup is sure to please.”

Festivities will again open Friday night, August 19 with the Supercross Races, followed by the Mountain States Ford Demolition Derby on Saturday. NEW this year Xtreme Broncs Finals will be Sunday, August 21, followed by three nights of PRCA Range Days Rodeo Monday through Wednesday. The Black Hills Energy Concert Series rounds out the 10-day grandstand schedule with the Roots & Boots Tour featuring Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye on Thursday, Walker Hayes with Diamond Rio on Friday and Russell Dickerson with Logan Mize on Saturday.

Grandstand Passes for all nine nights of entertainment go on sale June 15.

The Central States Fair takes place August 19-27 at the Central States Fairgrounds in Rapid City.

WALKER HAYES with Diamond Rio

CENTRAL STATES FAIR GOING "FANCY LIKE THAT"
Central States Fair, Inc. is excited to welcome Monument Records recording artist WALKER HAYES to the Central States Fair on Friday, August 26, as part of the Black Hills Energy Concert Series. “When Hayes hit the charts he was an instant fan favorite”, says Fair Manager Ron Jeffries. “We are so excited to be the first event to bring him to South Dakota”

A singer/songwriter from Mobile, Alabama, Hayes’ album Country Stuff The Album came out in 2021 and features new single “AA” and smash hit “Fancy Like.” “Fancy Like” has topped every sales and streaming chart since its release, spending a collective six months and counting at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Songs Chart, and hitting the top 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs. The irresistible tune was certified RIAA 3X Platinum within a year of release, and the track gave Hayes his first GRAMMY Award nomination as an artist for Best Country Song. Propelled by the TikTok dance Hayes made with his teenage daughter, “Fancy Like” has been used over half a million times on the app, with that original, homemade video, racking up over 32 million views, and appearing in a national Applebee’s ad campaign.

Joining Hayes is country band Diamond Rio. Diamond Rio signed to Arista Records in 1991 with the release of “Meet In The Middle” and became the first country music group in history to reach No. 1 with a debut single. The band is also known for their hits “How Your Love Makes Me Feel,” “One More Day,” “Beautiful Mess,” “Unbelievable,” “In A Week or Two,” and more.
